When choosing your next truck there are a lot of factors to consider. What am I going to need it for? How much towing capacity do I need? What interior features are a must? Here at Skyline Ford, we want to ensure you are getting the truck that fits your lifestyle. Here we are respectfully comparing the differences and similarities between the F-150 and Chevrolet Silverado. Both are capable trucks, but we want to make it a little easier to tell the difference so when it comes time for you to make a decision you are fully confident.

Interior Comfort & Design

Both trucks offer upgraded interiors. The front seats of the F-150 are overall more comfortable over short and long trips. Crew Cap offers ample room for three adults across the rear bench. The overall interior atmosphere of the F-150 features higher-end materials and a more classic interior design.

Cargo

Both trucks offer similar bed and cab configurations: Both are available in single cab, extended cab, and four-door crew cab; there are also short-, standard-, and long-bed setups. The difference is in the combinations available. The Silverado is available in five bed/cab configurations while the F-150 offers nine combinations, including the crew cab/long-bed configuration that offers the most cabin space and bed space between the two trucks.

Power

The base engine in the F-150 is a 290 horsepower 3.3-liter V6, while the entry-level offering in the Silverado is a 4.3-liter V6 that makes 285 horsepower. The F-150 is also available with an EcoBoost V6 engine and a V8 that gives you 395 horsepower. Ford also has the available F-150 in the high-performance off-road raptor trim, which pushes out 450 horsepower and 510 pound to feet of torque.

Overall the Ford F-150 brings home more power and more amenities as well as versatility. While both trucks are capable and powerful, the F-150 offers more bang for your buck. We encourage you to come to our dealership and see for yourself all the F-150 trims has to offer.
